22 Apr Changs Taekwondo – Disipline
Hello everyone! We hope you had a great long weekend and feel refreshed and ready for our protest and belt test this week! Today we’d like to share with our students the developments happening behind the scenes with regards to:
Training Taekwondo is more than just training in a sport environment. Although Taekwondo sparring is an Olympic sport, we also train in a more traditional sense as well. We train our student’s self control, respect and discipline.
Discipline is very important, how can we be successful martial artists, or successful people for that matter if we have little to no discipline? Discipline could be as simple as making your bed every morning, brushing your teeth, etc.
Discipline in your Taekwondo class could involve bowing to other students, saying “Tae Kwon!”, responding quickly when an instructor calls, and much more. Chang’s Taekwondo Instructors will be introducing each belt levels’ required discipline focus. These Discipline requirements will help cultivate more self sufficient, respectful students and help our students gain valuable life skills.
“Discipline is the bridge between goals and achievement.” – Jim Rohn
