Leadership Team Applications (August 2021)

Hello everyone! As September approaches, there comes an opportunity to join the Chang’s Taekwondo Leadership team. Students from Chang’s Taekwondo martial arts in South Surrey, Cloverdale, Tsawwassen, Aldergrove, and Mission are invited to join the team to learn how to lead. There is a famous saying:“When one teaches, two learn.”Students who join the leadership team not only improve themselves, but give selflessly to others. This unselfish thinking allows the student themselves to grow, as well as the student they are teaching.Everyone wins! What are the requirements to join the leadership team?

  • The leader must be at least 10 years of age, and a red belt by October 1st, 2021.
  • The leader must exemplify good character, while also displaying good technique
  • We would rather have 51% character and 49% technique… The most important quality of a leader is not their technical prowess, but their ability to lead by example and understand others!

What is entailed once you join the team?

  • We host meetings at least twice a month to train Taekwondo techniques and lecture on leadership topics
  • Assisting at least one class per week
  • Representing your dojang well

What do you stand to gain by joining the leadership team?

  • Confidence
  • Public Speaking
  • Insight
  • Technical Improvement
  • Leading Experience
  • Teamwork
  • Critical thinking
  • And more!

If you meet the requirements please ask your instructor about joining the team!If you do not meet the requirements yet, you may still assist classes while not ‘officially’ being on the team. If Taekwondo is your passion, don’t let age or belt rank get in the way of doing what you love!Train hard, and see you on the mats!👊 Changs Taekwondo Leadership
